  • Bloch Building at Nelson Atkins
    Opened June 9, 2007 and designed by Steven Holl. Houses Hallmark photo collection, masterpieces of modern and contemporary art, and African art. Also features a new entry lobby, library, café and sculpture court.
  • College Basketball Experience
    Opened in 2007, this facility celebrates the world of collegiate basketball. It contains over 41,500 square feet of basketball icons, exhibits and memorabilia and is home to the National Collegiate Basketball hall of fame. 
  • Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art
    Located at Johnson County Community College, this museum features works by Elizabeth Murray, Louise Bourgeois and Barry Flanagan.

  • Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art
    The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art opened in 1933, and is one of the country's premier art institutions. Known above all for its magnificent collection of Asian art, the museum houses work by Henry Moore, Claude Monet and the nationally-acclaimed Hallmark photo collection.
  • Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art and Design
    Opened in 1992, The Kemper’s permanent collection includes works by Jasper Johns, Frank Stella, Georgia O'Keeffe, Willem de Kooning, and Robert Mapplethorpe.
  • Crossroads Gallery Walk
    The first Friday of every month features one of the Midwest’s premier gallery shows. The Crossroads Arts District features more than 60 local art galleries, restaurants, boutiques and specialty food shops, making it one of the most concentrated arts districts in the U.S.
  • Liberty Memorial Museum
    The National World War I Museum is the first and only American museum solely dedicated to preserving the objects, history and personal experiences of World War I.
  • American Jazz Museum
    Located at historic 18th and Vine, this is one of the most interactive museums in the country. Exhibits celebrate jazz greats Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald and Charlie Parker. The Blue Room acts as exhibit and live jazz club several nights a week.
  • The Negro Leagues Baseball Museum
    The only museum in the world dedicated to preserving the history of the African-American baseball.
  • Kansas City Museum and Planetarium
    Housed in a 50-room Corinthian mansion, permanent exhibits feature artifacts and audio/visual shows to interpret the history of the Kansas City.
  • Science City at Union Station
    Science City at Union Station boasts the latest, hands-on immersive exhibits for all ages. Other attractions include the City Nights Theater District, planetarium, and casual to elegant dining.
