College Sports
Kansas City is evenly divided in its loyalties to the Universities of Missouri (MU) and Kansas (KU). Don't write off Kansas State, though, especially with its recent football success. The University of Missouri-Kansas City also fields a Division I basketball team.
The ease of getting to all the campuses allows Kansas City residents to attend college football and basketball games regularly. Big 12 basketball tournament play returns to Kansas City in 2009, and is always a sell-out.
